Four experienced Chief Justices of the Texas Court of Appeals discuss how to deal with your State Legislature to obtain funding. They discuss suggestions that could be used by all State Courts.

Chief Justice Darlene Byrne is the Chief Justice of the Third District of the Texas Court of Appeals located in Austin, Texas. She received her J.D. in 1987 from the University of Houston Law Center. She served 20 years as the presiding judge of the 126th Judicial District Court in Travis County, Texas. She was elected Chief Justice in 2020 and continues to serve in that capacity.
Chief Justice Dori Contreras is the Chief Justice of the Thirteenth District of the Texas Court of Appeals located in Corpus Christi, Texas. She received her J.D. degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 1990. She began her first term with the Court in 2003. She was elected Chief Justice in 2018 and continues to serve in that capacity.
Chief Justice Rebeca Martinez is the Chief Justice of the Fourth District of the Texas Court of Appeals. She received her J.D. degree from Boston University School of Law. She was first elected to the Court in 2012 and was re-elected in 2017. She was elected Chief Justice in 2020 and continues to serve in that capacity.
Chief Justice Brian Quinn is the Chief Justice of the Seventh District of the Texas Court of Appeals located in Amarillo, Texas. He received his J.D. degree from Texas Tech University School of Law. He began his first term with the Court in 1995. He was elected Chief Justice in 2004 and continues to serve in that capacity.
