Brenda Williams joined the staff of the National Center in 1977 as a clerk-typist in the Court Statistics Office. Over the next 40 years, she rose through the ranks and served as Association Manager to Council of Chief Judges of the State Courts of Appeal for ten years beginning in 2006. In that capacity, she provided exceptional service to committees and officers of the Council, acting as a wise counselor, a reliable confidante, and a calm and patient problem solver. She was always a model of grace and poise under pressure. Every president elected during her tenure benefitted from her expertise, diligence, attention to detail, as well as her thoughtful and reliable advice.
She retired in 2016 to spend more time with family. Her Council of Chief Judges family is grateful for the guidance that she provide to the Council’s leadership in the development of successful new committees, programs, and plans.
