Sherry Radack graduated from Rice University earning her undergraduate degree and then earned her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center.

After law school, Sherry went into private practice with the firm of Bracewell and Patterson where she worked on civil trial work (specifically contracts, products liability, and claims of insurance fraud.

In 1998, she was elected Harris County Civil District Judge, a seat she held for three years. In 2001, Sherry Radack was appointed to serve as a Judge of the Texas Court of Appeals, First District where she served for over 20 years. In 2004, she was elected to served as Chief Judge of the court and continued to serve in that capacity until she retired on December 31, 2022.

She was elected President of the Council of Chief Judges of the State Courts of Appeal (CCJSCA) in 2011, after serving as a member of various committees, including Membership and Executive Committees, and as Treasurer, Vice President and President-elect. Since serving as President in the 2011-2012 term, she continued to serve the CCJSCA in various capacities including as Chair of the Nominating Committee.

Chief Justice Radack has served as a member of the Texas Judical Council, the Task Force on Indigent Defense, the Appellate Section of the State Bar of Texas and the Texas Council of Intermediate Appellate Court Chiefs. She was a member of the Board of Directors for the Texas Center for the Judiciary. She has also served on the boards of the University of St. Thomas, the American Diabetes Association, Memorial Health Care Systems Foundation, the Westland YMCA, and Project Safe Child.
